How to Hire the Hall

The hall was built in 1995, and is an attractive and welcoming space with modern heating and lighting.

The hall has ladies, gents and disabled toilet facilities accessible from the entrance foyer. The ground floor premises comply with disability access requirements and fire safety standards.

The large kitchen has a double sink unit and ample worktop space for the preparation of buffets. A hot water urn, crockery and cutlery are available but hirers should bring tea towels, cups and glasses. A large gas oven with six hobs is available. Hirers should bring cooking pans if required.

The hall is used by a series of regular users providing many activities for children including music, ballet and toddler groups; also yoga classes for adults.

Blinds are provided on external windows.

The hall’s insurance policy covers public liability on the part of St James’ Church. Users of the hall are asked to make sure that they have adequate insurance cover while using the facilities.

Viewing the facilities before making a booking is recommended.

Reasonable hourly charges are made for private hire and the hall is available for one-off bookings on Saturday from 1.30pm to 6.30pm and on Sunday from 12 noon to 5pm.  There is also some weekday availability during the school holidays.

Please note that because the hall is part of a larger residential building the use of loud music and amplification equipment is not permitted.

Whilst every effort is made to keep the building clean and attractive, only a limited amount of time and money is available for regular maintenance. Groups and individuals are required to clean up before leaving the premises.

There is more information about the hall facilities and charges for private bookings on the Weekend Hall Hire page.
